Surfin' through summer.

Been a while since I last posted an image, so here's a work in progress. It's missing some sun and waves, which I guess fits in well with this week's Illustration Friday theme "missing".

awesome rendering, very good drawing! even without the sun and waves, you can still get a sense of the rush of the water around him

Welcome back Richard! Great Illustration! Don't think it needs anything more added, summer's been pretty non existent over here, hope you're getting better weather in your part of the world!

The white space actually works. The softness of the colored pencil keeps the figure part of the paper and doesn't let him become garish.

Is there much surfing in BC? Wouldn't a shot of some goofball doing a crazy drop in the lush North Shore woods be more appropriate? The title could have been changed to 'hucking through summer'...

I like the white space too. But, I would love to see the lush colors you give it when you are finished. We missed your posts... glad you found time to post another.
